New Insolvency Code

The Greek Insolvency Code has been recently amended.  The new law (l. 4738/2020 State Gazette A 207/27.10.2020) was initially scheduled to come into force on 01.01.2021 but was then pushed back to March 2021 (for rehabilitation, liquidation etc.) and June 2021 (for early warning, OCW and small insolvencies). A full English translation of l. 4738/2020 will be available on the firm’s website soon.

Bazinas Law Firm was the exclusive country contributor for Greece in a Report submitted by INSOL Europe to the European Commission/The Directorate-General Justice for a Study on “A new approach to business failure and insolvency”.

THE WORLD BANK/BANCA D' ITALIA / LJD

The Firm was appointed as national coordinator for Greece in a research project on how various jurisdictions treat the legal position of shareholders in a crisis scenario. Submission of country data is set for September 15, 2014.
